What are Some Early Signs of Dental Trouble?

by Dr. Joshua Davidson, Senior Dental Care Expert

Question: Can you highlight early signs of dental trouble?

Answer: The tough thing about dental problems is that the problem doesn't hurt until the problem is serious.

Cavities don’t hurt – until the decay touches the nerve of the tooth then the nerve is stimulated by the invasive bacteria and bacterial byproducts. The answer?

Yearly or twice yearly cleanings and xrays. Preventive care is easy and then your oral health care provider, whether it be a dentist or a hygienist, can detect problems very early on.

Teeth sensitive to cold is nothing to be worried about unless the sensitivity lingers for more than ten seconds or the pain erupts on its own. With regular visits, these concerns can be addressed by your oral health care professional.
